Outside the villa, Bryson opened the car door, glancing at Caleb.
“You’re badly hurt. Take a break for a few days.”

The day after their return to the manor, Wallace summoned Hannah to his study.
Wallace set aside his work as Hannah entered. “I only got back yesterday, so we haven’t had a chance to discuss business. Please, take a seat.”

Hiding anything from Wallace was futile, especially since Hannah had no desire to conceal her actions. “It wasn’t me. Aren’t they aware of their own deeds?”
Wallace’s expression hardened. “Could you consult with me before you make such decisions? Did you consider the repercussions of targeting Amelie and the Chadwich family?”
“I’ve considered the consequences.”
Hannah offered a wry smile. “It will complicate things between the Compton and Chadwich families. Since Amelie is your official wife, this could cause you a lot of trouble.”
